Background

A teacher's systems. A counselor's approach.

Teaching taught Josh how to build lesson plans, manage time, and read behavior. But working closely with kids and families showed him something more: real systems have to listen to what a student actually needs, not just look good on paper, but genuinely make life simpler for them. Counseling taught him a similar lesson from the other side, not just how to listen, but how to get someone to actually open up. Both come down to the same foundation: rapport, trust, and care for the person first. That's what Josh brings to coaching: helping each client build a system of their own, one that lets them become their biggest advocate and speak or write in a professional manner, grounded in general education and psychology principles but applied specifically to each individual.

Coaching built from education, psychology, and real-world strategy.

Why In Transit

Coaching that evolves as you do.

Josh working with students
1

SMART goals, revisited often

Specific, measurable goals that get tweaked as circumstances change, not locked in from day one and forgotten.

2

Developmentally appropriate, not one-size-fits-all

The same core strategies apply differently depending on where someone is developmentally, whether that's a high school junior managing the college process or a first-year professional managing a new job.

3

A school counselor's lens

NY State certified school counselor training: individualized intervention plans, restorative conflict mediation, and consistent family communication, brought into coaching instead of clinical treatment.

Yes, all sessions are held over Zoom. I'm based in Brooklyn and work with clients across NYC and nationwide.
If you're looking for insurance-reimbursed services or need crisis-level mental health support, coaching isn't the right fit, and I'm glad to help point you toward the right kind of provider. My approach is informed by a background in school counseling, though I'm not a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC).
